Led by a board of distinguished researchers, leaders in the biotech industry, and family members of persons with brain injury, The Dan Lewis Foundation for Brain Regeneration Research raises and directs funds toward the most promising and empirically supported biomedical therapeutics.
By supporting programmatic research, the Foundation will catalyze clinical trials - joint efforts between research institutions, private biotech companies, and patients and their families. The foundation will work with the FDA to gain approval for N-of-1 therapies that are genomically targeted and specifically tailored to an individual’s brain injury. The longer term goal is to make a broader range of biomedical therapies available to the large population of people with moderate and severe brain injuries.
The Dan Lewis Foundation’s goal is to pursue breakthroughs that will one day improve the lives of those affected by brain injury. All research in which the foundation collaborates is intended to support efforts of the global scientific community and to benefit persons with brain injury and their families.
During a cross-country charity bike ride, Dan was hit by a speeding motorist resulting in catastrophic injuries. His survival and ongoing recovery drive the DLF's mission to support the creation of new drug treatments for brain regeneration, benefiting individuals with brain injuries and their families.
